Statement

Our commitment

United Movers of America is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We want every visitor to be able to learn what we do, check our service area, ask a question, and request an estimate — with a screen reader, with a keyboard only, with a magnifier, with captions, or with no assistive technology at all.

We treat accessibility as part of doing the job right, and we support the goals of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable New Jersey law.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for making web content more accessible to people with disabilities, at three levels: A, AA, and AAA.

This website was designed and built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We consider it partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA: most of the site meets the standard, and we know of the exceptions listed in Known limitations below. We say “partially” deliberately — it is the honest word, and we would rather tell you what is not fixed yet than claim a clean sheet.

What we have done

Accessibility was built into this site from the start, not bolted on afterward. Specifically:

• Semantic structure. Real HTML landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer), one level-1 heading per page, and headings in logical order, so screen-reader users can navigate by structure instead of hunting.
• Skip link. A “Skip to content” link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches on every page.
• Keyboard operable. Every link, button, form field, and expandable question can be reached and operated with the keyboard alone. There are no keyboard traps.
• Visible focus. A high-contrast 2-pixel orange focus outline with clear offset shows exactly where you are — on both the dark and the light sections of the site.
• Color contrast. Body text is well above the AA requirement on both grounds we use (roughly 14:1 on the dark sections and 15:1 on the light sections). Text is measured against the AA thresholds — at least 4.5:1 for normal text, and at least 3:1 for large text and interface elements.
• Never color alone. No information is conveyed by color by itself — links carry an underline, required fields are labeled in words, and errors are stated in text.
• Forms with real labels. Every field has a visible label that stays visible while you type, sensible autocomplete and input types (so phone keypads appear on phones), and errors written in plain language next to the field they belong to.
• Text you can resize. The page reflows and remains readable at 200% zoom, and at a 320 pixel-wide viewport, without horizontal scrolling or lost content.
• Motion respects your settings. If your device is set to reduce motion, animations and transitions are turned off or reduced automatically, and the page settles into its final, fully readable state.
• No motion traps. Nothing on this site auto-plays audio, flashes, or blinks; there is no content that flashes more than three times per second.
• Works without JavaScript. The content of these pages is present in the HTML, and the whole page can be read and scrolled with scripting disabled or blocked. Some decorative motion simply does not run.
• Link and button text that means something. Links say where they go rather than “click here,” and every page has a unique, descriptive title.
• Touch targets. Interactive elements on phones are sized to be tapped comfortably (at least 44 × 44 pixels).
• Language declared. Each page declares its language so screen readers pronounce it correctly.
• Alternative text. Meaningful images carry text alternatives; purely decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology so they do not add noise.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some things are not fully accessible yet. We would rather name them:

• The moving animation on the home page. One section of the home page shows destination panels that drift across the screen. It is decorative; the same list of towns appears as ordinary text directly below it, and the drift stops automatically if your device requests reduced motion. On some older phones the animation may still feel busy.
• The customer portal. Our customer sign-in at app.justmoving.ai is a separate application that we link to but do not build. We cannot guarantee its conformance. If you have trouble in the portal, call us and we will read your job details to you or handle it for you directly.
• Content we did not create. Anything supplied by a third party — an embedded map, or a document we did not author — may not meet the same standard. Ask us and we will give you the information another way.
• Older browsers. Browsers more than a few years old may not render the layout as intended, though the text content remains readable.

Compatibility

This site is built to standards-compliant HTML so that it works with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox on desktop and mobile, and with common assistive technology such as VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA and JAWS. We have not tested every combination of browser and assistive technology — if the one you use has trouble here, please tell us and we will fix it. The site also honours operating-system settings such as increased text size, increased contrast, and reduced motion.

Technical specifications

Accessibility of this website relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA where native HTML is not sufficient. These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the standard listed above. The pages are also designed to remain readable when JavaScript is unavailable.

If the site doesn’t work for you

You never have to use this website to do business with us. Everything the site offers can be done by phone or email, at no extra cost and with no difference in service:

• Call 908-764-2721 and we will take your move details, answer questions, and give you an estimate over the phone.
• Email americanmovingusa@gmail.com and we will reply in writing.
• Ask us for any information from this site — or from your moving paperwork — in large print, plain text, or read aloud to you, and we will provide it.
• If the customer portal is difficult for you to use, tell us and we will give you your job details directly instead.

Report a barrier

If you hit something on this site that you cannot use, please tell us. Feedback is genuinely how these things get found and fixed.

If we don’t resolve it

If our first answer does not solve the problem, say so and we will look at it again. We will keep working with you until you can get what you needed, either on the site or another way.

How we assessed this site

This website was evaluated by self-evaluation carried out during its design and build: manual keyboard-only walkthroughs of every page and form, color-contrast measurement of the text and interface color pairs against WCAG 2.1 AA thresholds, rendering at 320, 360, 390 and 430 pixel viewport widths and at 200% zoom, and checks with reduced-motion and JavaScript-disabled settings.

Self-evaluation is not the same as a third-party audit, and we have not commissioned one. If you find something we missed, the section above tells you how to reach us.

This statement was prepared in August 2026 and applies to the pages at this website address.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is not a one-time task. We review this site when it changes and at least once a year, we fold reported issues into the next update, and we hold new content to the same standard as the pages already here. This statement is updated whenever the answers on it change.
